BHOOF SAFETY VEST 1 - NAVY

The Bhoof safety vest is equipped with a safety line that attaches to the included connector. The connector is fastened to the saddle and activates the vest’s gas cartridge in case of a fall, which rapidly inflates the vest. The airbag vest protects the upper body, back, neck, spine, and chest. The ends of the connector should be attached under the stirrup leathers to the stirrup bar on each side of the saddle. The length of the connector should roughly match the height of the saddle’s pommel and be centered. The vest’s safety line, which attaches to the connector, should be slightly taut when you stand up in the stirrups, without being fully stretched. 

Use the airbag vest as your outer layer for daily protection. It can be worn under a jacket, provided the jacket contains at least 15% elastane to allow proper inflation of the vest. The vest comes with a CO2 gas cartridge, a reset key, connector, and safety lanyard. Once used, the gas cartridge can easily be replaced with a new one of the same size. One gas cartridge is included with the vest.

If it needs to be used immediately after a fall, it can be laid on a flat surface so the air can be gently pushed out toward the cartridge attachment point. To prevent damage to the vest’s air channels, it should not be folded or rolled. If the vest is not to be used immediately after a fall, it is recommended to hang it on a hanger – in that case, the air will automatically release within 5–10 minutes.

The Bhoof Safety Vest 1 complies with the NF S72-800:2022 standard for riding airbags and holds the CE certification from the ALIENOR CERTIFICATION laboratory, assuring optimal safety and quality. Suitable for riders who weigh at least 25 kg.

• Store the airbag vest in an environment below 45°C to prevent gas cartridge explosion.
• Do not store the airbag vest in a cold environment that is below 10 degrees below zero. For example in a cold car or truck over night.
• Use a hanger when not in use. Avoid damp, high-temperature environments.
• When the gas cartridge has been used, simply replace it with one of the same size.
• Single cartridges are available to purchase from Bhoof.
• Regularly inspect the Bhoof Safety Vest 1 for optimal condition. Conduct an annual check for proper functionality. Verify the safety line is securely fastened during use.

• Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Wipe the vest with a lightly damp cloth and air dry on a hanger.
• Do not wash, bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, iron, wring, or line dry/hand dry.
• If you identify issues like damaged jacket or lining, deteriorating tube or cartridge, visible rust, or signs of wear on the safety line or components, contact Bhoof’s customer service for exchange or repair.
