Rodrigo Pessoa is a Brazilian show jumping rider and one of the most accomplished athletes in international equestrian sport. Born on November 29, 1972, in Paris, France, he is the son of legendary rider Nelson Pessoa. Rodrigo has represented Brazil in multiple Olympic Games and won individual gold in show jumping at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He is also a three-time World Cup Final champion (1998, 1999, 2000) and has earned numerous medals at World Championships and Pan American Games. Known for his technique, finesse, and connection with the horse, he has ridden some of the sport's most iconic horses, including Baloubet du Rouet. Beyond his competitive career, Rodrigo has also served as a coach and team manager for the Irish national team.
